AMCHP Announces 2023 Board of Directors Election Results

New Appointments to the AMCHP Board of Directors include 1 transition, 3 re-elections, and 1 new addition, bringing the number of Board members to eighteen.

 Washington, DC – The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors recently elected a new slate of officers and welcomed one new member. These Board members began serving on June 22, 2023.

With these changes, AMCHP’s Board of Directors will comprise eighteen members. Transitions, re-elections, and new appointments to the Board include Marcus Allen (President-Elect), Dr. Charmaine S. Mayers (Region II Director), Eden Bezy (Region V Director), Martha Smith (Region VII Director), and Dawn Bailey (Family Representative).

“I am delighted to welcome this new slate of officers, including Dr. Charmaine S. Mayers, who joins the Board as the new Region II Director,” said Lisa Asare, President of AMCHP’s Board of Directors. “These officers bring valuable knowledge and a set of skills instrumental in continuing to support AMCHP with the implementation of its strategic plan, AMCHP Future 2027, while ensuring that maternal and child health (MCH) priorities and the voices of people with lived experiences are represented in our work and the MCH System.”

AMCHP’s Board of Directors is responsible for the association’s property, funds, affairs, and business while helping achieve its mission of protecting and promoting the optimal health of women, children, youth, families, and communities. Its eighteen members hold key positions at the highest levels of maternal and child health and public health nationwide.
