Join the Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) and the Safer Childbirth Cities Initiative, in cooperation with Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), to celebrate the efforts of 20 cities from across the country in improving systems of care and support for mothers, infants, and families.
For the past five years, the Safer Childbirth Cities Initiative — an effort funded through collaborative grantmaking of several philanthropic partners — has supported community-based organizations in U.S. cities with a high burden of maternal mortality and morbidity. These partners implemented evidence-based approaches to reverse the country’s maternal health trends and directly tackle racial disparities in maternal health outcomes. This educational congressional briefing will feature representatives from three cities to share their successes and discuss what more is needed to invest in and sustain essential community-rooted solutions for improving maternal health.
