The Planning for Meaningful Family Involvement Worksheet is a 30-item worksheet is to help professionals “think through” the details, logistics, and processes that family members deserve to understand before serving on a board, committee, or task force. It prompts professionals to consider foundational questions (“why do you want a family perspective?” and “what, specifically, would you like the family representative to do?”) and further prompts them to consider practical issues such as remuneration, travel, communications, technology, etc. The worksheet takes approximately 30 minutes, and it is strongly recommended that a minimum of two agency leaders work together on the answers.
