AMCHP Announces 2024 Award Winners

Washington, DC – The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) is pleased to announce the winners of its 2024 AMCHP Annual Awards. The awards recognize maternal and child health (MCH) leaders for their outstanding contributions to the field and will be presented at the 2024 AMCHP Annual Conference, held April 13-16, 2024, in person at the Oakland Marriot City Center in Oakland, CA, and virtually through our virtual conference platform.

“We have the distinct honor of celebrating the remarkable achievements of MCH leaders this year at the 2024 AMCHP Annual Awards,” said Terrance E. Moore, Chief Executive Officer at AMCHP. “Their dedication and achievements are a source of inspiration and are truly exemplary of their pivotal role in enhancing maternal and child health. We applaud these 19 awardees for being trailblazers and setting the bar in this field through their continued impact and contributions.”

The 2024 AMCHP Annual Awards recipients include Okunsola M. Amadou (John MacQueen Lecture Award), Margaret Major (Excellence in State MCH Leadership Award), Omare Jimmerson (Vince Hutchins Leadership Award), Tricia Brisbine (Merle McPherson Family Leadership Award), and Emily Cowen (Ryan Colburn Scholarship Award).

Awardees for the Emerging MCH Professional category include Nadine Depina Tavares (Region I), Genevieve Lalanne-Raymond (Region II), Cynthia deSa (Region III), Tiffane Evans (Region IV), Terra Depew (Region V), Sara Gorman (Region VII), Danielle Hoff (Region VIII), Windy Ly (Region IX), and Ness Verigin (Region X).

This year’s edition of the AMCHP Annual Awards recognizes Sigma Beta Xi Inc. Youth and Family Services and the Equity Initiative, Riverside University Health Systems – Public Health in our new category, the Community Partnership Award. It also recognizes the Arizona Health Start (Health Equity Advancement Award), Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids (SPARK) Kindergarten Readiness Program (Best Practice Award), and BirthMatters (Partnership Award) as winners of the Innovation Hub Awards.
