NPMs:
Let's Talk Community Chats create safe spaces where families can engage in open, culturally responsive conversations about safe sleep practices, breastfeeding, the proper use of infant products, and mental well-being. These casual, monthly drop-in events are facilitated by trained community members, such as doulas, lactation consultants, grandparents, and dads, who are trusted within their communities. Families are empowered and informed about vital resources and social services to keep them and their newborn babies safe and healthy.
Developed by First Candle, Let's Talk Community Chats are grounded in principles of health access for all, cultural humility, and respect for personal experience. The program has been implemented in the Atlanta Perinatal Region and has since expanded into NICU settings and additional states, demonstrating its potential for replication across diverse communities and settings.
