Title V Federal-State Maternal & Child Health Partnership Meeting
July 30, 2024

Updated: 8/14/24

The Title V Federal-State Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Partnership Meeting is a unique technical assistance opportunity in support of the State Title V MCH Block Grant. This meeting convenes federal staff, state Title V MCH and Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) Directors and staff including block grant coordinators, epidemiologists, data specialists, program managers, etc.; family/community-based representatives; technical assistance partners; and other MCH stakeholders to engage in thoughtful discussion around issues addressed by the Title V MCH Block Grant. It provides an opportunity for peer learning and sharing, networking, guidance, technical support, and thought partnership to shape policies and practices for achieving optimal health outcomes for the MCH population.

The annual convening of the State Systems Development Initiative (SSDI) program, which provides data capacity support for the Title V MCH Block Grant, is held in conjunction with the Title V Federal-State MCH Partnership Meeting.

The theme for this year’s meeting is Partnering Together, Going for GOLD!

Title V Federal-State MCH Partnership Meeting attendees can explore and strengthen their work related to…

Guidance for the Title V MCH Block Grant including the Needs Assessment
Opportunities for peer sharing and better integration of Title V and other MCH investments
Leadership within the MCH Workforce, Family Leaders, and other MCH advocates
Diversity of the workforce and in using innovative approaches to address the needs of all MCH populations.

Meeting content will focus on the guiding principles of the Block Grant Guidance and include session topics on all population domains (Maternal, Infant, Child, Adolescent, Children and Youth with Special Healthcare Needs). Session topics will include rural health, tribal health, workforce considerations, Social Determinants of Health, family/ community engagement, etc.

Who should attend?
The Title V Federal-State MCH Partnership Meeting is a required meeting for Title MCH and CSHCN Directors, and SSDI staff as stated in the notice of award. States and jurisdictions can determine if they would like additional staff to attend from their teams. With the Block spanning the multiple population domains and given the varying organizational structures of Title V programs, we recognize that looks different for everyone. States/jurisdictions with questions can reach out to their HRSA Division of State and Community Health (DSCH) project officers. States/ jurisdictions with resources to do so are encouraged to include family leaders and community representatives.
