Congress Passes Short-Term Funding Bill to Avert Government Shutdown
September 30, 2021

Congress passed legislation today to extend funding for the federal government through Dec. 3, 2021. President Biden is expected to sign the bill before government funding runs out at midnight tonight. The short-term funding bill – known as a continuing resolution – continues federal funding at fiscal year 2021 levels and gives Congress more time to negotiate and pass fiscal year 2022 funding legislation.
