Writing Workshop for MCH Journal Supplement on Public Health Approaches to Perinatal Substance Use

Dr. Timothy Dye, Editor-in-Chief of the Maternal and Child Health Journal (MCH Journal) led a Writing and Publishing Workshop on July 22 for authors submitting to the MCH Journal's forthcoming supplement on "Public Health Approaches to Perinatal Substance Use." The supplement is co-sponsored by the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO).


Writing Workshop Learning Objectives:

  1. The general instructional approach to the writing process, using guidelines and strategies
  2. Manuscript types and principles, using examples from past MCHJ issues
  3. The publication process, including responding to peer reviewers
  4. Approaches to scientific storytelling in a manuscript
