The Clinic and Community Connections Project (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome)
Population: Infant Women & Maternal
Topic Area: Access to Quality Healthcare
The Clinic and Community Connections Project was developed by Hennepin County in Minnesota along with the Native American Community Clinic to address the lack of prevention programs focusing on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD). This project is designed to bring medical providers into FASD prevention by assisting and training clinical staff, especially those working in prenatal and pediatric healthcare, to incorporate comprehensive maternal alcohol screening, counseling, support and referrals.
