This interactive module created by AMCHP and AUCD in 2019 addresses key facets of the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support (CARES) Act, including grassroots and legislative origins, how it has evolved from 2006 to 2019, and resulting federally-funded programming. It also delves into the impact that the Autism CARES Act has had on services and systems that support autistic individuals and their families.

Welcome to this e-learning module on the Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support Act! The purpose of this module is to help educate CARES grantees, public health leaders and professionals, students, policymakers, and other stakeholders about the history, purpose, and evolution of Autism CARES legislation and the programs it supports. This tool may also benefit those working with children, youth, families and self-advocates impacted by autism and other developmental disabilities.
