Background & Bio

Anne Odusanya, DrPH, MPH, has worked in the maternal and child health (MCH) field since 2012. This includes holding leadership roles in state government; serving on various advisory groups; creating and delivering curricula (undergraduate and graduate); working alongside underrepresented communities; and developing, implementing, and evaluating programs to better health outcomes, especially for populations most in need. She has been an active AMCHP member since 2018.

Dr. Odusanya is an Assistant Director for the Division of Child and Family Well-Being at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). She leads the Whole Child Health Section, which houses over 40 programs addressing physical and behavioral health needs from birth and through the course of childhood to help children grow and thrive. Additionally, she is the Title V Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Director (CYSHCN) Director. Prior to joining NCDHHS, Dr. Odusanya worked as the CYSHCN Director/Unit Supervisor at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services with staff and partners supporting newborn screening, birth defects prevention and surveillance, Title V CYSHCN, and MCH programs. Regarding the American Public Health Association MCH Section, she is a founding co-chair of the Professional Development Committee and its mentorship program and is a co-chair of the CYSHCN Committee. 

Dr. Odusanya received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of San Francisco, her Master of Public Health in MCH from the University of South Florida, and her Doctor of Public Health in Community Health Behavior and Education from Georgia Southern University.
