Background & Bio
Amy Zapata is the Director of the Bureau of Family Health within the Louisiana Department of Health, Office of Public Health. She is a driven public health director with significant experience revitalizing organizations and programs so that they can carry out their charge for the public good in a changing environment. She has led the transformation of historical public health programs and services for women, children, families, and individuals with disabilities so that they can to effect change at the policy and systems levels. Amy is currently pursuing a doctorate in public health leadership through the University of Illinois Chicago School of Public Health, with a focus on examining strategic and synergistic partnerships in government.
