As you may already know, the 2023 AMCHP Annual Conference will take place in a hybrid format after being fully virtual for the past three years. We are so excited to have the opportunity to engage with participants in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 6-9, 2023. The spiritual home of jazz music and a true cultural melting pot, New Orleans, commonly referred to as NOLA, has a unique history and wealth of proud traditions. The vibrant city is best known for its music, numerous festivals, Mardi Gras celebrations, Creole and Cajun food, and unique architecture.

Sucré, or French for “sugar” is the perfect place if you are looking for authentic macarons, specialty chocolates, and hand-spun gelato. It is also conveniently located only .2 miles away from the New Orleans Marriott for a quick pick-me-up during the conference.
3. Neyow’s Creole Café
Neyow’s Creole Café is known for its relaxed environment, authentic creole cuisine, and fresh local seafood. This Black-owned business is located 2 miles away from the New Orleans Marriott and is accessible by streetcar!
4. Parkway Bakery and Tavern
Parkway Bakery and Tavern, Neyow’s neighbor in Mid-City New Orleans, is a family-friendly establishment and one of the oldest po’ boy shops ready to serve you a Louisiana classic po’ boy: a stuffed sandwich, usually consisting of roast beef or fried shrimp, on fresh French bread.
5. Johnny’s Po’ Boys
Johnny’s Po’ Boys is another po’ boy favorite, located in the French Quarter, much closer to the New Orleans Marriott (only .3 miles away), and is the oldest family-owned restaurant in New Orleans serving all of your daytime favorites.

Engage in the Music Scene
One Eyed Jacks is a beloved live music venue located in the French Quarter. Check their calendar closer to the conference date to see if you can catch a show!
Tipitina’s is also a rustic landmark that serves some of the country’s best live music performances!
Frenchmen Street is truly one of the best streets for live music in New Orleans. Most venues are 21+ but some allow children until a certain time.
