State/Jurisdiction: National
Setting: Clinical Community Virtual
Population: Medical & Public Health Professionals
Topic Area: Health Promotion & Communication Workforce Development
NPMs:

The PUSH Pregnancy Stillbirth Prevention and Pregnancy Safety Education and Training Model is a workforce education initiative designed to improve pregnancy outcomes by expanding access to evidence-based stillbirth prevention education and strengthening provider capacity to support families navigating pregnancy after loss. The model provides healthcare professionals and community birth workers with training on pregnancy warning signs, fetal movement awareness, trauma-informed communication, and evidence-based pregnancy safety strategies. Trainings are designed for obstetric providers, nurses, midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, community health workers, and other maternal health professionals working across clinical and community-based settings.

The model utilizes asynchronous virtual learning through the Thinkific platform, continuing education opportunities, downloadable educational resources, and optional live discussion and implementation support sessions. By strengthening workforce knowledge and promoting more consistent communication about pregnancy safety, the PUSH model aims to improve access to actionable pregnancy safety information and support earlier recognition of potential pregnancy complications. The practice is grounded in principles of health access for all, trauma-informed care, and patient-centered communication and is designed to be adaptable across a variety of maternal health settings nationwide.
