AMCHP aims to exemplify this year’s conference theme through our closing plenary session: “Nurturing the Now.” We are so excited to provide a space that amplifies youth voices, emphasizing the importance of cultivating diverse leaders. We will demonstrate the power of authentic youth engagement efforts within maternal and child health (MCH). We also want to provide participants with tools and inspiration for how they can incorporate authentic youth engagement methods into their own work and communities. Now more than ever, we must support our current and future generations of young leaders to bring forth the change they want to see in the world.
During this workshop-style, experiential plenary, participants will be led by youth from the Engaging Youth Expertise (EYE) For Prevention, a coalition of 10 diverse and passionate leaders advocating for justice and equity through mental/behavioral health and substance misuse prevention, and the New Orleans Youth Alliance (NOYA), a local youth development intermediary that provides program quality and professional development, policy and advocacy, and organizational effectiveness. This closing plenary session will be engaging and empowering as young people create a brave space for participants to learn and experience the impact of youth voice and expression. Young leaders are tapping into their resilience, creativity, and strength to find innovative solutions to current-day issues.
AMCHP ultimately hopes that after this closing plenary session, you will leave the conference feeling motivated and inspired to take action. Bear witness to the strength of youth storytelling and youth-led performance and register for the conference at this link.
