House to Vote on MIECHV Reauthorization Act This Week
November 29, 2022

The House of Representatives is set to vote this week on HR 8876, the Jackie Walorski Maternal and Child Home Visiting Reauthorization Act, which would reauthorize the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program for five years. The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP) has endorsed this legislation along with the Home Visiting Coalition. We are hopeful that a strong bipartisan showing of support for this legislation in the House will improve the prospects of passing through the Senate in an end-of-year package.

We encourage those of you who are able to reach out to your representatives and/or senators to urge them to support the passage of HR 8876.

For more information on the bill, please see this one-pager from the Ways & Means Committee, and a letter of support from the Home Visiting Coalition. If you have any further questions please contact Amy Haddad (ahaddad@amchp.org).
